Who We Are

RNP+ is a charitable community based organization registered under the society act of Rajasthan 1958 on September 16, 2002, with the mission to fight against HIV/AIDS. It has been formed exclusively to address the needs of positive persons in the state and mobilize positive persons to reveal their status and advocate for their rights collectively as a network. Today the network has formed twenty six district level networks in Rajasthan and has 12400 members across the sate.

In an era when lack of information coupled by social prejudices prompted avoidance and sub-human treatment of people living with HIV/AIDS, 7 men and women chose not to keep their HIV status a secret and resolved to put up a fight against the forces that strove to crush their spirit.

The genesis

The idea of forming an association of PLHIV was born in January 2002 after a formal meeting at the residence of former Health Minister for Rajasthan Mr. Rajendra Singh followed by several informal meetings with the very few number of PLHIVs from the state. Finally The 7 men and women living with came forward and decided to get registered under the Rajasthan Societies Registration Act – 1958 Section (28), at Registrar Officer, Jaipur with a well defined mission to improve the quality of life of PLHIV in the state with minimizing the stigma and discrimination attached with them.

The struggle and growth

In the initial phase struggled a lot without any support INP+ the parental network is only the one who extended the support till 2003, the other agencies and like minded organizations came and supported. Support from Catholic Relief services, Unicef and RSACS was crucial in the transition phase. Now many local, national, international and bilateral agencies associated with RNP+ for community advancement.
